News

In recent news, The Aerospace Toxicology Association (ATA) has been fully recognized as a 501.C3 not-for-profit organization.  As of 16 November 2022, ATA has been an affiliate of The Aerospace Medical Association (AsMA), and with this collaboration, a plethora of opportunities will be available to engage with medical aerospace colleagues all throughout the world.  Furthermore, ATA recently attended the 94th Annual AsMA Scientific Meeting in Chicago, Illinois. This event provided the opportunity to learn the most recent research in the field, specifically focusing on the effects of toxins on human health in aerospace environments.  At the AsMA meeting on 7 May 2024, ATA gave four presentations:
  • Medical Consequences After a Fume Event: a Retrospective Matched-Pair Cohort Study in a Major Airline Involving 15,000 Crewmembers – Michel Klerlein
  • Update: Key Medical Information Regarding the Health Impacts of Chemicals in the Cabin Air of Commercial Aircraft – Kris Belland
  • Investigating the Potential Health Dermal and Respiratory Health Effects on Crew Uniforms - Richard Pleus
  • Obtaining Key Medical Information Regarding the Health Impacts of Chemicals in the Cabin Air of Commercial Aircraft – Richard Pleus
